How to get tickets to the Blue Lagoon and Comino?

Comino and the Blue Lagoon

Ah – the blue lagoon. We love it, we hate it. Is it the stunning blue green Instagrammers dream of?

Yes. Is it a calm space you’ll have to yourself? Absolutely not. It’s become horribly overcrowded with blaring music, no space to put down your towel and is full of fast food kiosks and litter problems.

But...

After lots of local protests reminding the authorities that this is public land and a nature reserve, changes are in place from May 2025 to try to limit the number of visitors and their impact. This means there are now a few things to consider before you visit Comino.

Boat Trips:

  • The Blue Lagoon is roped off as a swim zone. However, you can take a boat trip to the edge of the zone and then swim into the lagoon itself and back to your boat.

If you’d like recommendations on private boat hire please contact us with information on your dates and group size. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Kayaking tours:

  • While we won’t be stopping or swimming at the Blue Lagoon, we’ll still pass by for a beautiful view - weather and busyness permitting - so you can take in its unique charm from the comfort of the tour.

Landing / Walking on Comino:

To land on the island of Comino, you’ll now need to book a ‘ticket’. It’s free, but you’ll need to reserve a timeslot in advance.

If you’re booking a Comino boat trip from a ticket office or tout etc do double check if this is included or if you need to do it yourself.

The advantage of landing on Comino is being able to walk away from the crowded lagoon and jetty area to explore the nature of the island and its historic fort tower. If you’re a walker, we recommend you go as early as possible and escape by 10.30 when the heat and the crowds kick in.

Contact us for information on a drop off / pick up taxi boat to help you do this independently.
